Let sleeping dogs lie... words of wisdom for certain times... by the Dave Stevens Band

A tribute to the "Indy 500" a five hundred mile car race from the city where I grew up. This world famous event takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway every Memorial Day weekend and its speed, power and checkered flags shaped my childhood.

The House of the Singing Winds sits upon a hilltop in the woods of Brown County, Indiana. The same woods I spent much of my youth exploring. Artist T.C. Steele and his wife Selma made their home in these hills and Steele's impressionist paintings capture the pastel colors and faded hues of the landscape.

An early song I wrote reflecting on our busy lives and losing site of the ones who are closest to us.

My most political song. In this world of misinformation and ever changing "truths" that are modified to fit the lastet narrative, we risk losing hold of our core values.

We learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement in middle school. He has been a hero of mine ever since. The words he spoke at the March on Washington in 1963 are some of the most powerful ever spoken.
